Treebo Hotels Might Be A Gainer Soon!
French hotelier Accor is in stage of early discussions to invest around $40 million in Treebo hotels, said people aware of the matter. If this deal materialises, this could be Treebo’s first funding round since 2017.
If at all this investment happens then Treebo’s valuation is likely to be at around $205-240 million. Treebo, headquartered at Bengaluru has raised $57 million so far from investors like SAIF Partners, Matrix Partners India, and Bertelsmann India Investments, the domestic investment arm of German media conglomerate Bertelsmann.
Treebo’s Investment so Far
Treebo’s last investment was when it raised $34 million in equity financing in August 2017, that was led by Hong Kong-based hedge funds Ward Ferry Management and Karst Peak Capital. Treebo also counts venture debt capital from InnoVen Capital.
Industry leaders say that the money raised is likely to be used in the company’s expanding process.
Treebo’s rival firm Oyo is dominated by SoftBank, that recently raised $1.1-1.2 billion in its latest round of funding, which was led by strategic investors, including Grab and Didi Chuxingm and Airbnb.
At present, Treebo operates more than 500 properties from 90 cities, with around 10,500-11,000 rooms under management.
